Keith Morris Strikes Again

Apparently, Keith Morris is incapable of not being sexist.

His latest quote, on dealing with SST Records:

“It equates to getting raped by a smaller penis. It’s just as easy to get ripped off by a small label.”

I will say this as many times as it needs to be said – you know what’s like rape? Rape. You know what’s not like rape? Virtually everything else. Shut the fuck up, Keith Morris.

You are a sexist insensitive disgusting ignoramus! Men are often raped too but you don’t even acknowledge it. Rape isn’t a purely sexist thing, way to be disclusive! Shame on you!

I’m a guy, so you’re barking up the wrong tree if you’re accusing me of being “sexist against men.” You’re right, making rape culture-perpetuating statements is fucked up to people of any gender who have been victims of sexual assault, but rape culture as a whole still centers around misogyny thus me saying that particular comment indicated sexism. I absolutely did not mean to imply that only women can be victims of sexual assault.

Yeah, fuck him for attempting to make a joke that might offend certain people!!! There should really be a law preventing people from doing that! How dare someone use sensitive subject matter in a humorous way! Americans can’t be trusted with free speech because it just leads to people’s feelings being hurt. I hope Obama bans it from the constitution! Vote democrat!

  4. punksexism says:

ha, you realize you’re upset at me for using MY free speech, right?

Keith Morris can legally say whatever he wants, and when he uses that right to promote bigotry, we can use our free speech to react accordingly. Just because there’s free speech doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to be judge the content of said speech.

  5. Colin says:

First of all I’m not upset with you for using your free speech. I’m mocking you for calling out someone for using their free speech and pretending to be offended by it.

It’s not bigotry. It was a joke and you’re choosing to be offended by it. It’s like a trend now for whiny bloggers to get upset over someone using a situation that’s offensive to THEM and write articles about how horrible a comedian, entertainer, etc. is. His aim was to be funny. I chuckled at the remark. He achieved his goal. It’s unbelievable that people can’t just ignore things in movies or on tv/radio or what comedians say. No matter what someone jokes about, SOMEONE will be offended. You just happened to choose this quote. If you didn’t think what he said was funny, then I could understand. But to sit there and pretend like you were honestly offended, you’re being dishonest.

Ignore it. His words didn’t rape anyone. No one was hurt by what he said.

The fact that you’re NOT offended by someone using rape as an offhand metaphor speakers far more negatively about you than the fact that I am does about me, bro.
